Buena Vista University is a private 4-year college located in Storm Lake, Iowa was founded in 1891 as Buena Vista College, is affiliated with the Presbyterian Church. The University of 60 acres (240,000 m2) campus is located on the shores of the storm, a 3200 acre (13 km2), natural lake. BVU academic programs in terms of a balance between the traditional courses in liberal arts and hands on learning opportunities, such as travel and internships. The University awards its teachers $ 30,000 George Wythe Award for Teaching Excellence, one of the greatest masters of the rewards of the nation. The average pupil-teacher ratio is 13:1.
